POSITION TITLE: RELIEF YOUTH SUPPORT WORKER
PROGRAMME: Crosscare Youth Services
WORK LOCATION: Clondalkin Youth Service
WORKING HOURS You will be placed on a Relief Panel and may be asked to
provide cover and work alongside a number of different staff on the
Clondalkin Youth service team. Crosscare will endeavour to give as
much notice as possible prior to contacting you for work.
SALARY The hourly rate of pay for Relief Staff is ?**Apply on the

Wages will be paid monthly in arrears by credit transfer to the bank
account of your choice, after deduction of taxes and other statutory
deductions.
CONTRACT TYPE 1 year fixed term contract
REPORTS TO: Youth Service Manager/Deputy Manager
ROLE PURPOSE:
Complete tasks as defined by the Youth Service Manager/Deputy Manager
which includes engaging young people in a youth work process.
Candidates will provide suitable youth work interventions to
facilitate personal development, promote pro social behaviour and
improve long term prospects for young people.
THE ROLE:
* To engage young people in a youth work process based on the
Crosscare Model of Youth Work.
* To engage with and build professional trusting relationships with
young people, treating them with dignity and respect, and working
within the values of Crosscare.
* To work effectively as part of a team and being open to reasonable
requests from Youth Service Manager/Deputy Manager in order to ensure
effective service delivery and working relationships
* To work within the policies of Crosscare and the standard
operating procedures of the organization and service.
* To perform all the administrative duties relating to the role to
ensure that the project runs smoothly
QUALIFICATION/SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
_EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:_
* The ideal candidate will be in the process of obtaining or have
obtained a relevant 3rd Level qualification in Youth Work or
equivalent.
* Some experience of working with young people, ideally within a
youth work setting is essential.
_PERSONAL SKILLS:_
* A commitment to social justice and to treating people with dignity
and respect
* An understanding of the principles of teamwork and the ability to
work on your own initiative as well as part of a team
* A positive, can do attitude is essential in this role
* Excellent communication skills
* Flexibility, good time management and a professional manner
